Texture, flavour and colour are all important quality parameters for fried vegetables such as French fries and potato chips. In-line measurement of dry matter and fat content can be used for quality control and to optimize the drying and frying process.
QMonitor can measure dry matter and fat in French fries and potato chips in very high speed and with superb accuracy. The transflection measurement method measures the oil and water content from deep inside the potato product. QMonitor can measure the complete width of the conveyor belt, returning the actual values for the complete production, whereas other in-line NIR gauging instruments only take a small sampling.
